Key Responsibilities
As a Roofer, your main responsibilities will include the following tasks:
- Install built-up roofing systems using asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
- Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles, shakes, and roofing tiles.
- Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials.
- Repair or replace damaged roofing systems, shingles, and shakes.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete and masonry surfaces.
- Estimate material requirements and project costs.
- Inspect roofing systems and identify repair needs.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and construction standards.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to complete projects on schedule.
